Due to changes in the way Sketchup installs, some users of V-Ray are not able to find the V-Ray plugin when opening Sketchup. Unlike issues with licensing and dongles, this issue returns no error.

To confirm you have this issue, check your Sketchup installation to see if the plugins folder exists:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\Plugins

If it doesn't exist, it means V-Ray has been installed in the newer plugins location, but cannot be found when V-Ray loads in Sketchup. The issue will be fixed in future V-Ray service pack releases but in the meantime can be resolved as follows:

1. Locate the folder:

C:\Users\[ADMIN]\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins

2. Cut the files:

.gitignore (note, this file may not always be present, ignore it if it is not.)

rubywinfunc.so

vfs.rb

3. Paste them into the location:

C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins

You may need to create the Plugins folder in this location.
